Why blockchain is a coming "revolution":

Blockchain technology is not just about currency - primarily it solves what's known as "Two Generals' Problem" – for which there is an unsolvability proof (or issues with interactive consistency / source congruency.)  Basically, if two people disagree about the details of who owns the title to something of value, and they both have equally compelling proof to back their claims, how do you ever know for sure what happened, or even that the same the thing wasn't accidentally sold twice?

With blockchain, such a disagreement is not possible.  That might not sound profound at first, but once you understand what that means, you'll get how this is a never-before-seen breakthrough technology.

Blockchain solves a few fundamental obstacles we don't have good answers for today:
  • The ability for a file to be copied without any worry about differences between the original copy and the new copy (goodbye, secretly editing you-know-what.)
  • The ability to decentralize without compromising integrity or authority, so that you can trust in information in-and-of-itself without any need to trust the source.
  • The ability to secure information in such a way that it is not possible to hack.
Like the internet, this tech is going to cause huge changes to ANY industry that could use a fool-proof system for this level of verification abilities.  Like how we secure identity, land titles, copyright / ownership of digital media, patenting, inheritance, record keeping, credit rating, and many more... like currency.

On the blockchain, cash cannot be counterfeited and carries it's own authority.  A lot of people have realized the future impact of this technology, especially in countries where de-valuing currency / inflation is a problem, which is why there's a dot-com bubble forming around bitcoin.  Like the internet in the late 90's, the technology isn't widespread enough to warrant the kind of USD that's going into its market cap TODAY... but give it a couple of decades and it'll change the world.

Those who find and capitalize on the biggest solutions will become the world's next billionaires.
